JEC offers a variety of programs designed to assist students with the four essential areas of college admission preparation: tests scores, essays, grades, and character. Students of all skill levels can benefit from the appropriate course(s) as they increase the likelihood of acceptance at the college of their choice.
SAT 2100 Club
Ready for a challenging, rigorous SAT course to boost your already high scores in Critical Reading, Writing, and Math? The JEC 2100 Club is perfect for students who demonstrate above average academic achievement, butwould like to take their SAT skills evenfurther. This is an accelerated course for students who want to go the extra mile.
SAT Workshop Elite
The SAT Workshop Elite is designed for students who are ready to put in the extra time necessary to increase their SAT scores as rapidly and steadily as they can. With focus on Critical Reading, Writing, and Math, this course provides the content necessary to help every student feel at home with the SAT. This moderately paced course is for students who wish to explore the content at a more leisurely pace.
SAT English Enrichment
The SAT English Enrichment course is the perfect supplement to the Critical Reading and Writing workshops for the PSAT/SAT. In this course students will examine and discuss articles from a variety of areas for practice with critical reading, vocabulary, grammar, and essay writing.
SAT Math Enrichment
An excellent companion to the SAT Math workshop, the SAT Math Enrichment course utilizes key sections in our textbooks to review a broad spectrum of the most frequently tested math topics in Algebra I & II and Geometry. If you've grown a little rusty, this is the fastest way to polish your skills and maximize your score.
SAT Subject Test Prep
The SAT Subject Test course is designed to help college-bound students achieve the best possible result on supplementary exams. These exams are for students who want to demonstrate proficiency in a variety of areas. JEC staff offer expertise in the Humanities, Literature and Art. Each week students will take a one-hour model test and review commonly posed questions on the subject of choice. Classes are open to students who are interested in taking the June 5th exams.
AP/IB Exam Prep
AP/IB courses allow students to accelerate their college careers with high marks on college level exams. Like the SAT subject tests, the AP/IB exams are offered in a variety of subjects. With the help of JEC staff, students can achieve the best possible outcome on AP/IB courses. Qualified instructors offer two hours of personalized tutoring each week.
PSAT English WS
JEC's PSAT Workshop program offers a comprehensive review of the content and test taking skills necessary for success on the PSAT / SAT reasoning test. This course is for students wishing to improve their competency and gain the attention of the college or university of their choice.
ACT Workshop
The JEC ACT Workshop is a rigorous, 4-week program designed for students who are taking AP and honors classes at their high schools and want to round out their college application with impressive test scores. This program starts on May 14, 2010 and ends on June 5, 2010, just in time for the June 12, 2010 test date.
College Admission Essay Workshop
Set yourself apart in the eyes of college admissions boards by writing essays that show skill, style, and character. This workshop can help students with every step from "how to prepare" to "how to polish-up." Show that you're not just some numbers on a page. Make it count!
