As students move through their educational careers, they face challenges of increasing difficulty. Here at JEC we understand how to help older students navigate complex writing assignments, advanced math topics, preparation for AP classes, and state benchmark tests. Our goal is to provide older students with the necessary tools to succeed in high school and at the college of their choice.
 

Our customized programs ensure that students receive the proper guidance and counseling when choosing classes and activities, and our academics provide the support to succeed in the competitive environment of middle and high school. The Middle/High School program at JEC has 4 integrated levels, allowing students to increase their ability as they progress. We provide study skills, long-term academic planning, solid academics, extra support when needed, and challenging coursework.

English Personal Tutoring
Looking to enhance your English skills beyond the scope of the classroom environment? This course allows each student to work and learn at his or her own pace in a small, intimate environment with a highly qualified English instructor. Topics of study include critical reading, vocabulary, writing, and grammar, and each is studied both within our curriculum and/or through homework help to assist so that student achieve success both in the classroom and in the larger world.


 

Writer's Lab
Writing can seem intimidating at any skill level, but it doesn't have to be!  Join one of our writing instructors, and focus on each step of the writing process. From brainstorming ideas and peer editing the rough draft to polishing and editing the final draft learn how to write with creativity, coherence and flair.


 

Reading Club
Whether you already love to read or are simply looking for a way to improve your verbal skills, this intensive reading course will help you build competence in reading. Since reading is a skill that forms the foundation of all learning, extra attention to this subject will enhance student achievement in all other areas. Students will read one book every two weeks and participate in in-depth discussions led by the instructor. Discussion topics will focuson the most important aspects of literature.
 

Math Personal Tutoring
In a small and intimate setting, JEC math students work through our meticulously designed curriculum at their own pace and under the guidance of highly qualified math instructors. We offer complete courses in middle school math, Algebra I & II, Geometry, and Pre-calculus.


 

Science Personal Tutoring
Get caught up or get ahead in your current science class with personal assistance on homework assignments, tests, and quizzes. Our gifted science instructors will help you with even the most complicated concepts in Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
